How to Assemble Silk Flower Arrangements

Silk flowers display a style of grace and splendor. Highlighting any room, these special arrangements are comforting and welcoming. Subtle and beautiful, flowers have since ancient times adorned both home and palace. There is no reason why you cannot claim the same luxurious pleasure today.

1. First: Determine location

   Before starting to unpack the contents of your new flower arrangement from its shipping container, determine where it is that the piece should go. Take the time and consideration to choose the right spot. Consider lighting and foot traffic during the deliberations.

2. Second: Carefully unpack

   Remember that these are fragile objects that do not take well to bends, folds or other accidental abuse. Do not rush as you thoughtfully bring out the flowers and base. Separate the cardboard packing trash from the articles of value.

3. Third: Place base

   It is time to place the base of the new arrangement. Make sure that you plan enough space around it to accommodate the width of the flowers. Under no circumstances should the flowers rest while touching a wall or any other piece of furniture in the room. If the placement is in a corner, then remember symmetry. Make an equidistant space between the base and the walls on either side. If the flower base is to go on a table or countertop, place it in the direct center. It is a good idea to keep the flowers elevated off the ground; however, floor arrangements are effective too.

4. Fourth: Add water to a clear vase

   For models that have a clear vase, add a portion of water to enhance the visual effect of the flowers.

5. Fifth: Place flowers

   Carefully place flowers into base in either the recommended pattern or in a sequence of your own. Try to put the tallest stems in the center while radiating the smaller ones around the edge.
